It's never the same, obviously, but it's the closest you'll get. That's the only way i can regain and hit 10% of that nostalgia haha. Gotta have that CRT for that epic authenticity, nearly zero latency and just how much better they look on a CRT to begin with. Anyways, I axed the service on switch, wasn't even using it. It was the same deal on Wii & Wii U, but to compensate just stick your TV's color gamut to native and blast the Color to 100.

It's weird, Nintendo still can't get NES emulation right.

Plus NES Online games look dark and colors look completely desaturated compared to the real thing. I need a CRT filter Stat with a smaller 4:3 image, but alas, they dont offer that. Nintendo doesn't give us the option to scale the image down(Arcade Archives allows this) so i wind up with a giant 4:3 image on my 65" which looks ugly and gnarly for older games, or a smaller oddly shapped tapered pixel perfect picture. NES & SNES Online doesn't cut it for me, not only because of the emulation lag(Combined with my TV's 10ms of lag)but because they dont look right on my OLED.

If i'm gonna play NES or SNES games, i'm gonna play them on a CRT Tube TV with the OG Hardware & Controllers. I'm a bit of an enthusiest and wouldn't even bother buying stand alone VC releases anymore if they were a thing on Switch, simply because of the emulation latency issues combined with my TV's latency. Oooo, that was a shady move on Nintendo's behalf, making us rebuy old VC games again on their next console when a simple system transfer would of been totally doable. Get ready for the goosebumps novel of your life. Have you tried the Joycons in the holder thing when playing the Switch?Įdited on Thu 28th July, 2022 04:45 by sea of blabbling text. Heck I didn't even play New Super Mario Bros U till it came to the Switch!! Right after the N64 the Wii U is my least favorite Nintendo system. I think I have 5 games on the Wii U including the pack in game Nintendoland. The lack of third party support and the fact that you had to rebuy all your VC games again just killed it for me on the Wii U. I did have a Wii U, still do as a matter of fact but to be honest I didn't play it much. Kirby Return to Dreamland is one that I wanted to play but never got around to it. I have it on the Wii got the Sepcial Edition that came with the Gold Wiimote and CD but by the time I got it I was so done with waggle controls.

As for Skyward Sword I want to get it on the Switch and try it with the normal controls. I am sure there are a few more I am missing but that's all I can remember now. I will admit I too love how if you tilted the wiimote it became a NES controller. I totally went to town buying up VC games.

I loved the Virtual Console on the Wii and I admit, that was the selling point for me. The on Nintendo system I couldn't get into was the N64 except for GoldenEye, Ocarina of Time and the WWE games I really didn't play the N64, it's was all Playstation for me.

Titles like Soul Calibur 2 and Simpsons Hit and Run just looked better on the Cube then the PS2 and Xbox. See I didn't mind the GameCube especially alot of the third party titles.
